Throughout my journey writing all these articles about the latest bluetooth earphones in the world, I would be unfair if I didn’t bring up the GOAT. Everything from the latest Huawei earphone hype, Earfun’s budget hype, to Soundcore and now Samsung. all of them owe their success and sales to Apple. ANC would have no challengers to Bose if not for Apple. The L shape stem design was made and perfected by Apple. And for years there has been no other brand that have reshipped the tech world like Apple, even now and I have a very sneaky feeling they are about to do it again very soon. The Apple Foldable phone is coming according to reports. If these reports are true be very worried if you are a competitor. Because when Apple does it …they do it in such a way that all other attempts falls very fast and the tech world takes note and then tried to copy as they have done with AirPods down through the years.
Even in the midst of writing article after article on the achievements of the Sony’s and Samsungs of the world. I set in amazement over every single person that walks by in the airport all wearing AirPods Pro’s. It’s a culture phenomenon. It transcends all reasoning in my opinion. Earphones like Bowers and Wilkins Pi8, Rex Noble 5’s, Samsung Galaxy 4 pros, Sony xm6’s and many, many more, all are universally praised and put on the top of the charts and being the very best. Well over anything that the Apple product is presenting in those same charts. And yet time and time again, people pick them, trust them, and use them like oxygen. There is just something about them and something that happens to people who use them. They touch areas for them in their lives that matter and or that create an unequaling value that can’t be fully explained. Even their features are copied and respected by the industry because they make sense and create beautiful moments that change lives sometimes.
Even I have a moment that, still even now, years later has never been duplicated the way it was the day I brought home my first AirPods Pros. I started working on my computer when I got back from the Apple Store from picking up the first AirPods Pros. I remember the upstairs was a little hotter that day than normal so I ran over to my T-stat and cut on the A/c to get some cool air and proceed to unbox my AirPods. As soon as I got the AirPods in my ears, my Air condition went out. I was so made and upset and then I thought to myself how I didn’t hear anything at all like the Tv I had playing in behind me and thought that our house lost power in the middle of this heat and got even more made. So I pulled off my AirPods and the Air and TV came back on and I was relieved . So I put the AirPods back into my ears and the Air and TV cut out again, but then what finally dawned on me was that I was cooling off and when I turned around I saw the tv playing but heard nothing. All along it was the AirPods NC ability that I was experiencing and it blew my mind. Never again has something fooled me like AirPods Pros in its N/C ability. And forever, I will remember that moment and no company in the world has been able to remove it, even with mantle of “Best sounding earphone” given to other brands throughout the years. People still buy AirPods and nothing has been able to duplicate the culture setting performance of Apple since the first iPhone. That’s one hell of a run, if you ask me. And this is why respect is earned and deserved. And something tells me we might have more to come soon with the Fold, if this is true and delivered by Apple, maybe even a AirPods 4 pro!
