I don’t think I’ve seen this before. With all my articles about this earphone and all the other earphones I’ve owned in the past, this is one true earphone that is effortlessly superior. This is its superpower. It doesn’t win because of the needle pointed overly to one side or the other, either. It’s not because it sounds great only, it’s not because it’s comfortable only, or because it specializes in ANC only. No, no! This is just part of what makes up its DNA.
It’s not because they threw in features like a translator, similar to Apple, or because they put in a clever, sexy case that makes your buds easily seen while still remaining small and not easily scratched. It’s not because they can be dropped in water for minutes and still be fine. It’s not because they connect to your Samsung phone without an extra app. Nor is it about their ability to make phone calls in highly noisy areas and still push out your voice to person you are talking too.
It’s not even because they have a hear thru quality that is just under Apple’s AirPods performance. Nor is it because of the very strong and impressive look of metal and L-shaped buds that perfectly match your ears and stay in with minimal vent pressure.
Sure, you can control volume and media with your fingers. But what’s cooler than that is the highly underrated voice controls without command words. You want your volume up while you’re lifting weights? Just say “volume up.” No “Hey headphones” or “Hey Google” needed. And the best part is you still have Google Gemini at your voice command too; you don’t have to choose which one you want to use, like with Sony’s. You can have both. Not only that, but it will read your text messages automatically without commands or touches. And it even has hearing enhancement for those who need to hear better, as well as the option to listen for sirens and speak the chat.
Basically, what I’m saying is that I don’t have a better example of an effortless and seamless experience with an earphone than the Samsung Buds 4 Pro on a Samsung phone. And that’s saying something. No other earphone in the world today has ever stood toe to toe and won against Apple and their AirPods’ connection with their iPhones like this product. This is why they won and are my earphones of the year, as MKBHD said in his video as well.
