This world makes me laugh. And I’m sure it’s not just me, but every audiophile in the world is laughing at trends that have never affected us. For those initiated into the audiophile world, we have dealt with people laughing and wondering at us for years. We have always known that IEMs are the only way to go for the purest sound at its highest. We have also known that Bluetooth plugged into your ears is probably not the healthiest choice for your brain over time.

For audiophiles like myself, we are not in the game to play around and can spend upwards of $2000 or more on a top-tier flagship IEM, like my Valhalla by Thieaudio. We are blessed to be able to do so, and by no means do we promote cost over reasonable substitutions. But once you have had it, it’s so hard to look backward. For us, Bluetooth earphones like Sony or Samsung Buds 4 Pro are only a means to an end and something to use for convenience. But when it’s time to be lost in music on a level that spills into a drug-induced fantasy world in your mind, we are buying things like 64 Audio, Thieaudio, Sennheiser, Empire Ears, or Moondrop, to name a few.

The amount of beauty and quality is unrivaled at the IEM level. The amount of tech and sheer knowledge put into the making of such a thing, whose only purpose in life is sound, is just jaw-dropping. No ANC? Why, we have a perfect seal and natural NC. Some use mics for phone calls, but why, I say. I don’t want anything disturbing my nirvana state. But if you need it, it’s there as an option. No hear-through or gimmicks. But best of all… no battery. No charging your earphones or worrying about how long you can listen to them or if you charged them before leaving.

We save our phones for phone calls and searches because we have separate DAC devices to really push the limits. No, no, no…we audiophiles of the world have always lived in this wired world, and trust me, it’s far vaster in performance than a pair of wired AirPods for looks. For us, it’s not a fad or a new trend. Music is life, and therefore the instrument used to bring it to life is paramount. So whether you are staying or leaving soon, just know this world has existed long before you decided to make the latest fad, and it will be here long after you move on to the next trend.
