Absolutely pathetic! Aren’t you sick of the spin yet? This is the only company I know that can brag about making billions and claim that business and growth have never been better, yet turn around and implement more and more layoffs over and over again. How many mass layoffs is this company going to keep having?
Sure, I know the tech industry experiences layoffs, but for a company like Microsoft, which constantly brags about being healthy and profitable, they seem to specialize in destroying the lives of people who have dedicated themselves to them time and time again. I mean, at this point, you would have to be an idiot to trust Microsoft for employment.
It’s one thing for a company to be suffering and be forced to cut jobs, but Microsoft is starting to make a flat-out profession out of laying off workers. And yet, more and more profits and bonuses are being passed out to the leaders who either led them down the wrong path or overhired, if you are to believe the company’s excuses. And yet, on their pages… tons and tons of job postings.
Here’s a hint: Why not make these job openings fall into the hands of the people whose lives you are ruining, instead of posting jobs that you know full well the majority of people you are going to cut could easily be converted to those positions? But they won’t. Why? Because they use excuses like A.I. and mishiring as an excuse to stop paying these people what they are worth, especially with their likely tenure. It’s easier to pay a first-year employee than a 10-year person who can demand their worth. All of this is about greed, period. The day that Microsoft can show that their leaders aren’t making bonuses in years that they are performing executions on thousands of people’s livelihoods is the day I will find trust in Microsoft. They lie and destroy people, and I’ve had enough watching them prance around the stage acting like the bare minimum turn in the right direction makes up for generations of failures. It doesn’t. They are a failure and the worst thing to happen to gamers and workers for the last 10+ years.
Look, I’m sorry, but it had to be said. I’m sure the fanboys will defend everything they do once again. Here’s the truth: they will never compete with PlayStation or Nintendo. The only good they serve is providing pressure to keep PlayStation and Nintendo’s foot on the gas, and for that, I thank them for their placeholder. But understand that every single time Microsoft claims that they have turned the corner and are listening to people, they will turn around and do two more miles of bad things to erase all of their momentum, and every single honest gamer knows I’m right.
