Well, I think I’ve had them all for a while now. The Fenix brand, Nightcores, even the 4sevens. I’ve had a long line of different flashlights. All of them ranged from cheap to expensive. All of bragged about lumens or some other gimmick like being “tactical” or having a “strike bezel.” As I grew older and wiser, I witnessed facts changing monthly or yearly. First, you needed at least 200 lumens to blind an attacker, or you need a strike bezel to hurt an attacker, or you need to be able to freeze your flash light in ice overnight to prove it’s worth. And as I grew older and watched all these lies finally die away or change in their facts and numbers to make othets rebuy another flashlight like I started to come to an understanding that I was being lied to and tricked to get me to spend more money.

But I think one of the biggest lies and sales I fell for was the 4000- 5000 lumens need of the Nitecore Edc33 and 35! This gave you a whopping 4000 or more lumens for seconds before dropping down to 600 lumens for the rest of the use and 🔥 of your hand(an absolute waste of money and gimick). I never wasted money on a hype like this before and promised myself I wouldn’t ever do it again. 1000 lumens is still far more than you need, even at 700 lumens would be more than efficient for any tasks. No more would I seek out hyped up lumens when the Candela was for more important and the distance and run times next. Understanding if I preferred a flood beam or a spot distance beam also played a much more role.

Hence the Olight. Olight has been one of the best flashlights brands I’ve ever had. They have always given me the best stats that matter and realibillity along with the trust I needed from a company. Even my very beginnings with flashlights, I had roots to David Chow, the Orginaly designer of the 4sevens flashlights, before partering with Olight. Which is why their designs have similar quality to them.

With the new Baton Turbo, I get every single thing that is important to me. Other flashlights give me a couple of things I want but not everything. The Baton Turbo gives me a legit 1000 lumens with high Candela at over 65k for a good amount of time without burning my hand or droping to 600 lunens in 19 seconds or less. Having high candela is vital to brightness and intensity. Having high lumens means nothing without Candela. Then they addressed something that the most full-size flashlight in the last 10 years couldn’t do, and that was to have a beam distance of 500 yards. This delievers more than 500, even over if it and yet it’s still compact but not too compact. They made it waterproof and dropped-protected along with a perfect side switch that be pressed by your piky finger even in tactial grips.

They even remembered to have modes that give you instant access to a 1lm moonlight and instant access to the ulymtra 1000 lumen mode from off. They also gave you a choice in the color of the aluminum case and a dual direction clip, which allowing magnetic surface connection along with tail standing. I mean, come on, dude. They nailed it! Oh BTW it has magnetic charging vs. USB and a replaceable chargeable battery, unlike some other brands.
The bottom line, they delievered everything you will ever need in a flash light and unless you don’t like the brand, look, or some othrt hang up, it will be very hard to beat such a delivery, especially one that cost $59! That’s right, $59. Just let that sink into your brain before you leave. $59 for this flashlight that is covered with a lifetime warranty. Is there anything better than this that delivers what matters vs hyped up lies? I think not!
