So let’s get this out of the way now, shall we? I have the Fold 8, not the iPhone Duo. Yes, like so many others, I decided to go in the direction of the Samsung Fold 8 even after the announcement of the iPhone Duo. And it wasn’t because I didn’t think that the iPhone Duo would be every bit the success that Apple products typically are. No, not at all. I think it will redefine the concept of foldable phones in North America, at the very least.. It will bring foldable phones to those who didn’t want complicated phones, including the elderly and children. This is just what Apple does. They also know how to focus on little things, like animations when you open the phone or ensuring that the phone can withstand being dropped in a pool. These are things to celebrate about Apple. Even the impressive battery life and cooling should be something all companies can learn from. And then there is that app scaling. A complete boss move. And yet, none of that is what I want over the Fold 8.
For me, the Fold 8 represents everything Apple isn’t, and that is the point. It presents freedom. It represents iconic strides to take chances nobody else is willing to. It represents the right way to do things before everyone else understands what right is. Android is the one that reminds others, you know you can have a matte screen protector for under $20 on Amazon for your Fold 8. They are the ones that recreate the animation that Apple spent years making overnight and show it can run on Android too.They are the ones that already put a hole-punch camera on their phones years before Apple ever knew about that tech. They show full-screen options too, along with bold and beautiful colors and sharp detail. They are thinner and lighter on top of this, and for the icing on the cake, they are cheaper and offer more deals.
Fold 8 continues the tradition of being bold and willing to do things differently. It treats its consumers as though they are educated rather than ignorant. It does not pretend to present things others have already done as its own. If they rip something off, they boldly do so as such, not as something they created. Most importantly, you can make docks go away if you want. If you do not like which side something sits on, you can change it. This is what Android is. They might not represent the brand with the most sales, but they still represent freedom and choice. If I want to use LDAC or aptX, I can. If I want to speed up my transitions, I can. If I need a matte screen, I am informed enough to know I can buy it. This is what it means to be Android. And this is why the Fold 8 is my choice for a foldable under the Samsung umbrella. Should or have better thermos? Sure. Could have been better with the camera? Sure. But these are not deal breakers. It’s still the Best phone I have ever had. The screen size is so perfect in its aspect ratio.
It literally makes tablets and readers irrelevant. Reading on the front screen is such a pleasure, even typing is so accurate. Movies on the open screen is just epic if you need to. YouTube videos looks amazing and come to life like nothing before it, even better than my Fold 7. I had no idea just how much difference it made with the paper-size symmetrical ratio made. And of course Samsung still is the best feature for AI Features. And my battery life can last two days straight. This is easily the best phone I have ever had in my life. 5 out 5 star score EASILY!!!
