I know right now there is a ton of online chatter about the Apple Duo. Surprising to me is the fact that most of the chatter has been negative recently, all of a sudden. At first, everyone just gave the crown to the Duo after Apple’s announcement, but I think since then, people have had a chance to really assess it against what the Fold 8 and the iPhone 18 Pro have, and I think we have an agreement between enemies, so to speak.

You see on one had you have Samsung Fold 8 and Android fans alike want nothing to do with Apple. We don’t trust the closed garden nor do want anything to do with the arrogance of the people that own it. Android fans pride themselves on knowledge and awareness. They can spot something overhyped a mile away and will call it out proudly. You see so many people just assume that apple created and invented Foldable phones and the gimmicks in the camera only helps prove to us the apple fans are sheep.

But then you have the elite bragging about their S midpoint upgrade of a phone, the iPhone 16 Pro with more colors, camera gimmicks, and battery life, that looks just like the 15 Pro. These people don’t want to be reminded that the iPhone Duo is truly the different and new iPhone, not their carbon-copy and lazy S upgrade of a device, the 16 Pro. This reality pisses them off, and so for them, the Apple Duo represents FOMO and buyer’s remorse because when they went home, they realized that they basically have the same phone they had in the 15 Pro with a paint job and firmware upgrade for the most part, minus extra battery life. This is only enough as long as they are told that there is nothing cooler and more different that represents a threat to the attention they would normally get with their iPhone. Now, showing up at a sporting event courtside won’t get you the same looks once the Duo comes out, and therefore it is a threat to their attention and their consideration of having the best. And God forbid their social media feeds are filled with the Duo, because they are and will be. Worse yet, they will not like their favorite rapper or movie star pulling theirs out on TV. They will hate them for it and, most of all, hate themselves for not going with the Duo upfront, causing them to live with the wrong choice while others get likes and subs because they have the Duo.

This is what a nightmare looks like to the owners of the iPhone 16 Pro. They know they have an S-tier, mid-point, lazy upgrade, and yet they bought it anyway while Apple beats its chest about the Duo more. This is what hell on earth is for people like this. To the enemy of their enemy, they’re friends in this moment. These fanboys would rather Samsung succeed than the Duo end up being more popular than their iPhone 16 Pro. This is the sad truth about things, folks. Instead of embracing the newly added addition to their umbrella, their whole focus is to bring it down because you aren’t the top and most exciting thing to write about anymore. In fact, I predict that this iPhone will go on to be the less sold product released this year compared to what the iPhone 15 pro did. Dealing with a mid range upgrade S model on top of the newly released first ever foldable iPhone is a recipe for less sales but worse of all less attention to those who bought the 16 pro.
